Adding something for the artist
At checkout you can add an amount on top of the prices. It is optional, it goes to the artists in your order, and declining it takes one click.
What Encore takes
Encore takes 15% of the prices artists set. What you add is treated differently, and the difference is worked out for each artist in your order separately.
| The money | Encore takes |
|---|---|
| The prices themselves | 15% |
| What you add, up to half of what you spent with that artist | Nothing |
| What you add above that | 15% |
| What you add past $100.00 to one artist | Nothing |
How it is divided
If your order has more than one artist in it, what you add is split between them in proportion to what you are buying, and the split is shown to you before you pay. You can also set each artist’s amount yourself instead.
A free release still gets a share. The artist who gave their work away is the one with no other money coming from your order.
Where a release has several people credited on it, they share in what you add the same way they share in the price.
Limits
If you choose to add extra for the artist, contributions start at $1.00. The most you can add to a single order is $200.00.
Refunds
If your order is refunded, the amount you added is refunded with it, in full.
